| Berlin,
Germany--Heliocentris Fuel Cells AG, a leading fuel cell system integrator,
announces that the company has been selected to be the technical partner
for the Hy-Tech-Challenge.08 fuel cell competition.
Hy-Tech-Challenge.08 is a competition
devoted entirely to the issue of hydrogen and fuel cells, and is under
the patronage of Dr Annette Schavan, the German Education and Research
Minister. Educational institutions and companies from all over Germany
will provide teams to compete against one another with their hydrogen-fuelled,
remote controlled model vehicles.
Organising the competition are
the Wasserstoff- und Brennstoffzellen Initiative Hessen, the Hessen Agentur
and H2 in Praxis, an initiative of ConActivity KG, Frankfurt.
The teams are provided with pre-qualified
fuel cell systems. The fuel cell set, which is provided by Heliocentris
is based on a 50 watt fuel cell platform which has been well established
in the market for years. As technical partner, Heliocentris will be responsible
for configuring and delivering these systems. In addition, Heliocentris
will hold introductory workshops for the participants, as well as being
available as on-site technical contact. Linde AG will be responsible for
hydrogen logistics.
Mr Martin Weiss from ConActivity
explains: "We opted for Heliocentris as technical partner because their
systems are robust and reliable. Heliocentris is one of the market leaders
in systems for education and R&D. Heliocentris' years of experience
in this sector will be a great help to the teams."
Dr András Gosztonyi, CFO
of Heliocentris Fuel Cells AG, adds: "We are pleased that we will participate
in this exciting competition as its technical partner. This confirms our
leading position in the field of technical education. Using fuel cells
in real applications like in this competition fits well with our concept
of commercialising fuel cell systems, which we have been practicing for
many years."
