Diaphragm compressors continue to be a key technology in the development of the hydrogen economy. Typical applications include hydrogen filling stations for fuel cell vehicles, buses and forklifts; power back-up using hydrogen fuel cells for telecommunication towers and power plants; and residential refuelers for hydrogen cars and power generators. Warminster, PA-based compressor manufacturer Pdc Machines, Inc. is a leader in this field, making significant contributions to the advancement of the commercial use of hydrogen technology. Pdc will be exhibiting at the upcoming Hydrogen Expo US on March 30-April 1 at the Sacramento Convention Center. The 2008 theme is: "Ramping Up Commercialization".

Last year proved to be Pdc's most productive year in its over 30-year history. Due to the steady growth and increasing H2 infrastructure, in 2007 Pdc supplied compression systems for 20 installations worldwide through its many partners. Based on the number of contracts Pdc has received in the first quarter of 2008, the compressor manufacturer is already projecting to exceed the success of the previous year.

By utilizing over 30 years of experience in high-pressure system integration along with their customers' process knowledge, Pdc is the preferred source for component and systems packaging for hydrogen fueling applications. In an effort to better meet the enormous growth of the industry and to protect the intellectual property of its customers, Pdc has increased assembly floor space by adding a separate area in another building called "Pdc North". Furthermore the company added new design and machining technology in Pdc's commitment to ongoing enhancement of its capabilities.

Benefits of Pdc's Diaphragm Compressors include:
--Contamination-free and leak-tight gas compression
--High reliability and uptime (customers have reported a life-cycle of 10,000 to 40,000 hours without the need for spare parts replacement)
--Low noise levels with only 85 dbA
--High efficiency (only one to two stages of compression are necessary and very little or no cooling is required in certain cases)
--Wide range of performance with flow rates from 1 Nm3/hr to 2,000 Nm3/hr, horsepower from 1hp to 200hp and discharge pressure of up to 15,000 psi (1,034 bar) with the 3rd generation compressor model
--Discharge pressures: ranging from 3,600 psi to over 15,000 psi (250 barg to 1000 barg)

Pdc will be exhibiting its product line at Hydrogen Expo US, held with the NHA Annual Hydrogen Conference, March 30-April 1, 2008 in Sacramento, CA in booth #100 of Exhibit Hall A. A presentation of Pdc's capabilities to provide packaging of hydrogen infrastructure equipment and technologies is also on the program of Hydrogen Expo Exhibitor Forum, on Tuesday, April 1, 01:00pm-01:30pm.
