Calif. --The California Fuel Cell Partnership announced that Jan van
Dokkum, President of UTC Power, has been appointed 2008 Steering Team Chair.
Reginald Modlin, Director of Environmental and Energy Planning, Chrysler
LLC, will be Vice Chair.
The CaFCP Steering Team chair position
changes every year, rotating through the four categories of partners: auto
manufacturers, energy providers, fuel cell technology companies and government
agencies. The vice chair becomes the chair the following year.
Jan van Dokkum became president of
UTC Power in October 2002. He has focused the company's fuel cell activities
toward transportation applications, working with the world's leading automotive
OEMs and seeking out other early applications such as transit bus, marine,
and space and defense applications. van Dokkum also has advanced UTC Power’s
on-site power generation products, including fuel cell, geothermal and
combined cooling, heating and power systems for commercial and industrial
markets. He is a member of the U.S. Department of Energy Hydrogen and Fuel
Cell Technical Advisory Committee.
As Director of Environmental Affairs
for Chrysler LLC, Reginald Modlin participates in the development of product
and facility-related environmental legislation and regulation in the NAFTA
region. Additionally, he is responsible for vehicle emissions certification,
fuel economy strategy, testing and reporting, and international environmental
homologation for all Chrysler brands. Modlin has served on a number of
policy groups, including the Michigan’s Renewable Fuels Commission, Michigan’s
Climate Action Commission, and EPA’s Mobile Source Transportation Advisory
Committee.
