Proprietary Electrolysis Product Generates Zero Emission Transportation Fuel

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO -- Hydrogenics Corporation (Toronto:HYG.TO)(NasdaqGM:HYGS), a designer and manufacturer of hydrogen and fuel cell systems, today announced that it has been selected by Air Liquide Canada to provide a hydrogen generation system to support BC Transit's fleet of 20 fuel cell-powered buses. The system is anticipated to be delivered in 2008 and will be located at BC Transit's Langford Transit Centre.

This onsite hydrogen generation system will be the first system sold to Air Liquide in Canada and the first system integrated into an Air Liquide fueling station in North America. "Hydrogenics is very pleased to be working with one of our longest standing partners, Air Liquide, to deliver the core hydrogen generation system for the new refueling station in Victoria," commented Daryl Wilson, Hydrogenics President and CEO. "This is very much a 'world stage' initiative that BC Transit is undertaking and Hydrogenics is proud that our time-proven HySTAT® electrolyzer product is part of their commitment to a zero emission bus fleet," added Wilson.
