Proton Energy Systems offers extended protection plans for HOGEN® GC Laboratory Hydrogen Generators

New plans add one or two years to Proton's standard two year warranty on parts and labor

Wallingford, Conn. - June 22, 2004 -- Laboratory managers who shop for onsite hydrogen generators to streamline their analyses expect ultra
purity, a consistent flow rate, set-it-and-leave-it reliability and cost savings in the systems they choose. Proton Energy Systems is giving lab professionals  peace of mind by enhancing the long-term benefits of owning a HOGEN® GC laboratory hydrogen generator.

In response to customer requests and to complement its standard two year limited warranty for HOGEN® GC systems, Proton now offers extended
limited warranty plans for new sales of  its HOGEN® GC 300 cc/minute and 600 cc/minute laboratory hydrogen generators.

The plans may be purchased in one year increments, offering  laboratories a one or two year limited warranty extension in two service levels:
Silver Plan or Gold Plan.

"These extended warranty options provide an extra dimension of confidence to separation science professionals who rely on the HOGEN GC as a critical part of their lab's equipment," said Proton Energy Systems Laboratory Products Manager Stephen C. Szymanski. "Under these new plans, for a minimal fee, Proton will provide a replacement unit to the customer while their unit is beingserviced."

Proton's laboratory hydrogen generators provide a pure (99.9999%),  reliable, safe supply of hydrogen carrier gas for gas chromatography (GC) and
fuel gas for flame ionization detector (FID) and other hydrogen-consuming  analyzers. Labs that employ HOGEN generators make an investment that simplifies hydrogen supply and eliminates the 'hidden' costs associated with  ordering, renting, delivering, servicing and maintaining cylinders.

Hundreds of Proton's laboratory hydrogen generators have been in use worldwide for three and a half years. These systems have accrued over one
million of field use and have consistently received positive ratings from lab professionals, according to David Wolff, vice president, marketing and
communications, Proton Energy Systems. "The outstanding reliability of our on-site laboratory hydrogen generators has created the opportunity for
us to provide this additional warranty benefit for our customers," he said.

HOGEN GC laboratory hydrogen generators offer the advantages of an internal palladium membrane dryer (which virtually eliminates the need for
routine dryer maintenance); standard autofill feature, small (9") footprint, 200psi output (enabling fast GC analyses) and a digital readout.

HOGEN GC lab hydrogen generators have become well-accepted in a range of industries and applications, including hydrocarbon and petrochemical
processing, pharmaceutical, biotech and environmental analysis. These industries rely on ultra-pure (99.9999%) hydrogen supply, often within
tight space constraints.

Backed by the expertise of Proton's technical support engineers and  customer service staff, HOGEN laboratory hydrogen generators provide security, purity and convenience for analysts who can't afford down time or be bothered with the logistics (and the potential contamination threat) of  cylinder-based hydrogen.
