University of Central Florida's Dr. Hoekstra Joins World Energy Solutions to Assist in the Development of a Hydrogen Assisted Diesel Engine

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.-- World Energy Solutions, Inc.  (WEGY) , a company focused on energy conservation technologies and environmental sustainability, announced that Dr. Robert Hoekstra, Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering and Management Systems at the University of Central Florida, has been retained by the company to assist in the development of the Company's Hydrogen-Oxygen energy technology.

Dr. Hoekstra will provide his engineering design expertise to the Hydrogen-Oxygen energy system currently under development by World Energy Solutions (WES) in their St. Petersburg Research & Development laboratory. As the development of this technology moves towards the manufacturing of a pre-production prototype, the company will rely on Dr. Hoekstra's expertise on design aspects to ensure that the prototype is compact and highly efficient.

According to Ben Croxton, Chief Executive Officer of WES, "Dr. Hoekstra's experience in the design of engines will provide the essential 'value engineering' support for the completion of the prototype. Dr. Hoekstra has significant experience in the design and efficiency of Gasoline Engines and Diesel Engines. We are confident that he will be an asset to our R&D team as we work towards reducing fuel consumption through the adoption of our Hydrogen-Oxygen technology."

Dr. Hoekstra is an accomplished author of papers on industrial design and innovative development practices for engines. Recently, WES announced that it has expanded its current R&D facility to accelerate development of the Hydrogen-Oxygen diesel fuel reduction technology. This news comes on the heels of the Company announcing that it has begun retrofitting a new 2007 Ford F-650 with the company's proprietary Hydrogen-Oxygen system to reduce the truck's fuel consumption and harmful emissions.
