PASADENA, Calif.-- VIASPACE Inc. Director of Engineering and Operations for VIASPACE Energy, Mr. Nathan Hurvitz, gave an invited presentation at the 3rd Annual Fuel Cells Durability and Performance Conference in Miami, FL on November 16, 2007. The conference focused on new developments in materials, methods and testing equipment for fuel cells and new energy sources. Mr. Hurvitz's presentation was entitled "An In-Situ, Real Time, Gas Humidity Sensor for Fuel Cells." It featured an in-depth look at the new HS-1000 VIASENSOR humidity sensor recently released for sale by VIASPACE Energy.

The conference featured presentations on a variety of fuel cell applications, including automotive applications as presented by Daimler Corporation, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd and Ford Motor Company, as well as advances in durability and testing by Ballard Power Systems and Los Alamos National Lab.

VIASPACE Energy has recently filed new patent claims covering use of its tunable laser-based VIASENSOR in the exhaust of internal combustion engines and as an embedded unit for control of future hybrid powered automobiles. The company has received very positive feedback from the early adopters of the VIASENSOR, as well as strong interest in these new applications from several automobile manufacturers and instrumentation companies.
