PolyFuel to promote fuel-cell electrolyte membranes

PolyFuel, US, is to start full-scale market development of electrolyte membranes for direct methanol fuel cells (DMFC) in Japan. 

It has been supplying samples from a pilot plant and expects to start full-scale production in late 2005. The market for fuel cells for mobile devices is forecast to reach 500,000 units in 2006 and 115 M units by 2010.
