| CHIBA — Mazda
Motor Corp will begin supplying environmentally friendly hydrogen-fueled
cars next year for Norway's "hydrogen highway" project, the carmaker's
president said Wednesday.
Mazda will deliver 30 RX-8 hydrogen
vehicles, which do not emit carbon dioxide, for the national project in
stages, Hisaichi Imaki said at a news conference at the 40th Tokyo Motor
Show, which opened the same day with a press preview. Under the project,
called "HyNor," hydrogen-filling stations will be set up on a 580-kilometer
road that runs along the country's southern coast and links the capital
of Oslo with the port city of Stavanger.
