Asahi explores new facilities in Chiba, Japan

Asahi Glass has started a feasibility study to set up new facilities at its Chiba site in Japan to manufacture membrane-electrode assemblies. 

Startup is anticipated in 2008 at the latest. 

The product is used for polymer electrolyte fuel cells. 

The company has been promoting the product in the automotive industry.
