  Hydrogen-Fueled Honda Gets Tax Credit

WASHINGTON --The Internal Revenue Service said Wednessday that Honda Motor Co. Ltd.'s hydrogen-powered car qualifies for the alternative motor vehicle credit.

Specifically, as a fuel cell vehicle, the Honda (nyse: HMC) FCX is eligible for the qualified fuel cell motor vehicle credit, the IRS said.

Buyers of the 2005 and 2006 Honda FCX may receive tax credits of $12,000, the agency said.

Honda's American Depositary Receipts rose 7 cents to $36.89 in afternoon trading Wednesday.
