Fuel Cell Corp. (OTCBB:PFCE) announced preparations have begun to increase
production of Bipolar plates at its new manufacturing facility in Willoughby,
Ohio. Additional equipment has been ordered, a second shift is being planned
and the possibility of weekend production is being evaluated.
George Suzuki, President, stated,
"I am very pleased with the progress of our bipolar plate production, which
began in March of this year. It took only 3 months to ramp up and fill
the first shift production. We are adding more equipment, planning a second
shift of operation, and evaluating the feasibility of weekend work. There
is more work out there than we initially anticipated and are working towards
greater efficiency and continued quality while production increases. We
believe that PFCE represents a new type of high technology component manufacturing
company in the fuel cell industry."
Bipolar plates are a key component
of the fuel cell system. When we receive low volume orders, production
is done on a NC milling machine. When the production volume is high, molding
presses are the manufacturing equipment of choice, which is a much more
cost effective production method. Some of our customers are on the verge
of placing high volume orders. We believe that PFC is the only specialty
component manufacturer that has the right type of equipment and materials
to efficiently process large orders at this time.
Pacific Fuel Cell Corp. is a nanotechnology
company committed to producing fuel cell components with reduced cost and
higher performance in the portable, stationary and micro fuel cell market,
utilizing nanotechnology.
