African Cabinet has approved a strategy to support hydrogen and fuel cells
research to promote clean and efficient production of energy from a range
of primary energy sources, government said on Thursday.
“The transition to hydrogen is expected
to reduce dependency on oil and gas and reduce carbon dioxide emissions
when used in efficient fuel cells,” government spokesperson Themba Maseko
said in statement.
The National Hydrogen and Fuel Cells
Technology Research, Development and Innovation Strategy would enable government
to support emerging research and development in hydrogen and fuel cells,
which were seen as energy solutions for the 21st century. |
