OTTAWA--The Canadian Hydrogen Association (CHA) is pleased to announce the release of its "Hydrogen Systems" document. This important paper identifies the Canadian opportunity for greenhouse gas reduction and economic growth through the deployment of hydrogen technologies and infrastructure. The 30-page document is the product of two workshops involving over 60 experts from government, academia and the hydrogen and energy industries. And its release comes at a very pertinent time. Identifying and building a sustainable energy system are two of the most critical issues facing society. As an energy carrier, Hydrogen can address issues of sustainability, climate change and energy security. The paper presents a four-step action plan to help position Canada as a leader in the global shift to a sustainable, hydrogen-based economy.

The CHA is also pleased to have been involved in the publication of David Sanborn Scott's book "Smelling Land: the hydrogen defense against climate catastrophe." Smelling Land is about hydrogen systems and technologies, the essential components of any strategy that can give us a chance to escape climate catastrophe. The book explains how energy systems really work, the phenomena that drive climate change - and why any practical, comprehensive defennse against climate catastrophe must have hydrogen at its core. The book will soon be available for purchase on the CHA website (www.H2.ca) and at local bookstores in the fall. Proceeds from the book are being generously donated by the publisher and author to the 'Smelling Land Fund.' The Canadian Hydrogen Association will administer the fund, which will be used provide copies of Smelling Land for educational purposes.

These two publications present a compelling case for Canada to lead the world in a shift to the "Hydrogen Age". Anyone wanting to know more about the hydrogen age and how hydrogen can address greenhouse gas reduction, energy security and a sustainable quality of life can obtain copies of Hydrogen Systems by contacting the CHA at info@h2.ca and by ordering Smelling Land through our website.
