| SiGEN will
be featuring a number of new innovations this week at the 350 exhibitor
All Energy conference, reflecting the groundbreaking work of the local
Aberdeen high tech Hydrogen and fuel cell company.
SiGEN plans to show that exploiting
locally produced hydrogen locally from renewable energy sources such as
marine, wind, bio-waste, solar and hydrogen is technically achievable relatively
simply.
First up will be SiGEN’s Hy-PED TM
The company claim this is is the first road going taxed and insured Hydrogen
powered fuel cell battery hybrid scooter in the UK. Trials on the Hy-PED
TM by bipeds (people) will be available at the show. SiGEN will also be
show casing the latest in High performance electric motorbikes from Vectrix.
This is a direct precursor model for the fuel cell bikes that will be coming
available within the next 2 years.
On the fuel cell theme, the “Gensun”
which is a solar fuel cell hybrid, portable zero carbon traffic lights
system, a joint project between SiGEN Ltd (Aberdeen), TCP (Essex) and Voller
Energy (Hampshire) will be showcased.
SiGEN will also be joined this year
by ‘CFC Solutions GmbH’ of Germany the world’s leading supplier of commercial
250kW Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell (MCFC) combined heat and power, (CHP)
systems.
Another innovation form the TCP/siGEN
collaboration is the “Ecolite”, a portable trailer based lighting tower
which combines the AirDolphin Wind Turbine with battery power to make a
totally silent carbon free lighting tower, such as what is normally seen
running from a diesel generator.
People talk of the hydrogen economy.
SiGEN on collaboration with ‘Falcon Foodservice Equipment’ (Stirling),
a manufacturer of industrial cooking appliances will demonstrate a hydrogen
gas cooker. Throughout both days delegates can come and enjoy crepes at
the siGEN stand cooked on the hydrogen gas hob. Should any delegates be
cold they will be kept warm with the hydrogen gas fire jointly developed
between siGEN and Verine (Essex).
SiGEN will also continue their tradition
of illustrating the latest in FC technology as they have done at every
All Energy Conference since its inception in 2001. On the conference Dave
McGrath, MD of SiGEN says “The All Energy conference is by the far the
best show of its kind in Europe.
"From modest beginnings in 2001 any
one who would have predicted where the show would be today incorporating
a fully international 2 day Hydrogen and fuel conference would have been
considered crazy.
"The organisers can be rightly proud
of the most comprehensive renewable energy show in Europe and the only
one to fully embrace and incorporate hydrogen and fuel cell technologies.
This is the only show SiGEN will be exhibiting at in the UK this year.”
