The Linde Group, one of the world's leading engineering and industrial gases companies, acquired The BOC Group in 2006 to form one of the world's leading engineering and industrial gases companies.
HFC attendees will be able to get a hands-on demonstration of the latest in hydrogen and fuel cell technology and products, including hydrogen-powered automobiles and equipment.
BOC will supply the compressed gaseous hydrogen for the conference's fuel cell vehicles from the nearby Pacific Spirit Hydrogen Fueling Station. The 350-Bar station is one of the first stations along British Columbia's Hydrogen Highway(TM) and which BOC designed and built in conjunction with the National Research Council Canada Institute for Fuel Cell Innovation and Natural Resources Canada.
"Fueling and driving hydrogen-powered vehicles just got easier and more energy efficient, thanks to technology we have developed. As one of the earliest entrants into the hydrogen energy arena, our considerable investment is paying off: Linde is the world's only company with the in-house technology to fuel all types of hydrogen vehicles," said Joachim Wolf, executive director, hydrogen solutions, Linde.
"We have equipped over 60 hydrogen filling stations worldwide, and our global size and scale give us the ability to execute large projects safely and successfully," Wolf said.
Linde is a Platinum sponsor of the HFC and also is sponsoring the BC Hydrogen Highway Road Rally 2007, which will feature a roundtrip drive from Vancouver to Whistler, BC, in hydrogen-fueled cars ride-and-drives for delegates at the conference. The road rally, organized by Powertech Labs and also sponsored by the Hydrogen Highway and Dynetek Industries, will feature cars from automakers Daimler-Chrysler, Ford, GM, Nissan and Toyota.
The theme of this year's HFC conference is 'International Partnerships for Global Energy Solutions.' BOC and Linde representatives will be on hand to discuss how the company harnesses its global resources to design and deliver safe and reliable fueling systems for projects of all shapes and sizes.
Mike McGowan, head of hydrogen solutions for Linde in North America, will present at a plenary session on bus fleet fueling stations on Tuesday, May 1.
