Toronto, Ontario CANADA-- Pure Energy Visions Corporation (PEV - TSX Venture), the leading Canadian developer of energy storage technologies for the international battery and fuel cell markets, provided today a business update on its recent activities and those of its wholly owned subsidiary Pure Energy Visions Inc. ("Pure Energy").

The number of opportunities facing the Corporation at this time has prompted this update on several major initiatives. Due to the nature of some of these negotiations some specific names have been omitted at the request of the parties involved.

During the month of December Pure Energy entered into discussions with three large international battery companies for the purchase and sale of its Rechargeable Alkaline battery products. Distribution would include sales in Europe, Asia, and North America. Pure Energy hopes to conclude agreements in the near future.

In the past two weeks the Corporation has been approached by two companies regarding possible strategic alliances. These companies have complimentary technologies that can benefit from Rechargeable Alkaline batteries.  Furthermore, these technologies would compete in separate, multi-billion dollar market segments not covered by the Corporations current products including lap top computers, cellular phones, and power tools. Discussions with both companies are ongoing.

This fall Pure Energy has been in discussion with a number of European retailers as part of its new international sales initiatives.  It has now received a purchase order for a spring 2007 promotion and is working on several other opportunities.  The retailer is one of the leading European building centres and do-it-yourself stores. In this category they rank in the top 3 in Europe and top 5 in the world.  Product will be sold under private label and will include Rechargeable Alkaline batteries and Pure Energy's new micro processor controlled Smart Charger.

Pure Energy has been very successful in Canada marketing its rechargeable alkaline batteries in 1200 retail outlets. Using its experience in Canada Pure Energy has established a US commissioned sales force with a manager and a growing network of regional representatives. As a result we are now in discussion with a number of retailers in the US representing close to 20,000 retail outlets. Pure Energy has been very encouraged with its meetings with these and other retailers and anticipates receiving several orders early in 2007.

In China Pure Energy's XL batteries have recently passed final testing with TCL Communications Co. Ltd. (TCL), for TCL's Caller ID phone. This past week TCL has chosen a phone model to proceed with for commercialization. Pure Energy anticipates that this application will require several million batteries annually.  Pure Energy has also been supplying batteries to several other original equipment manufactures (OEMs). This includes one large international consumer electronic company who has requested quotes in relation to several different OEM products, each of which if successful would result in the sale of several million batteries. In addition the US Army is evaluating Rechargeable Alkaline as a replacement for its single-use alkaline batteries.

Further to the Corporation's recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT), IIT is preparing a US$30 million funding proposal to the Indian government Department of Science and Technology to establish an entirely new facility initially focused on the development of a commercial prototype of the Corporations proprietary Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (DMFC). The proposal will be submitted in January 2007 and IIT anticipates that funding will be approved in the first quarter of 2007.

Also in India the Corporation has narrowed its field of potential partners to two companies that both wish to market the Pure Energy line of batteries to consumer and OEM segments within India and its African and Middle East trading partners.  In addition to marketing batteries this partnership will work on the commercialization of the DMFC technology.
