LOS ANGELES
Honda plans to offer a limited number of hydrogen-powered fuel cell sedans
in Japan and the U-S in 2008.
The Japanese automaker already has
20 of its experimental F-C-X cars on the road.
A redesigned F-C-X concept car is
being displayed at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It uses a center-mounted
stack of fuel cells that set the car lower to the ground and gives it a
more conventional look.
Honda says the new fuel cells are
20-percent smaller and 30-percent lighter than the current configuration
but are more powerful.
Fuel-cell power plants produce zero
emissions.
