| A Birmingham
environmental technology company is spearheading a project to develop affordable
hydrogen-powered scooters.
Valeswood ETD, based in Moseley,
has brought together experts from Birmingham, Finland and China to create
the product.
Hydrogen fuel cells convert hydrogen
into electricity that can be used to power a variety of objects. It is
a more environmentally friendly alternative source of energy as the only
emission it produces is water.
The project is the brainchild of
Valeswood managing director John Turner.
"The development we are working on
is particularly exciting and completely different from other hydrogen fuel
cells," he said.
"We hope the finished product will
cost the same as an ordinary scooter."
