Inc.'s third quarter losses continued at about the same pace as last year,
the company said Wednesday.
Plug Power (Nasdaq: PLUG) lost $11.88
million, or minus 14 cents a share, for the quarter ended Sept. 30. That
compares to a loss of $11.87 million, or minus 15 cents a share, a year
ago.
Revenue fell to $1.8 million, down
from $3.9 million in the same quarter last year. The drop in revenue, along
with an increase of administrative costs, were offset in part by lower
research and development costs, and a boost in interest income.
For the nine months, the company
lost $37 million, or minus 43 cents a share, on revenue of $6.8 million.
For the same period in 2005, the company lost $35.3 million, or minus 47
cents a share, on revenue of $10.8 million.
Roger Saillant, CEO of the Latham
fuel-cell system developer, said the company had received orders for more
than 400 of its GenCore power backup systems.
"We continue to gain traction within
the global telecommunications market sector," Saillant said.
