Russia has everything to establish itself as a leader in some fields of hydrogen economy.

Four research concepts are of highest priority now, reports the vice president of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The first one is building hydrogen power plants – several power plants of new generation are already carrying energy to Russian population.

The second trend is development of portable energy systems up to 10 kW – such device provides necessary energy for one apartment's self-sufficiency.

The world's most popular research trend is still hydrogen vehicle development. Such vehicles now exist both in Russian and in America, but their price is yet too high.

And the last, but not the least opportunity for Russia to become a world leader is development of portable units, allowing computers and military equipment to function for a longer time without recharge. Russian scientists have already done all necessary paperwork, but commercial production is still to be launched.
