MTI MicroFuel Cells Inc. has ammended its agreement with its fuel distributer to allow the Albany fuel cell maker to use other third party companies to produce fuel cartridges.

The change in the agreement with The Gillette Co. was contained in a recent Securities and Exchange Commission filing, and relates to the company's Mobion consumer product line.

MTI MicroFuel will now be able to sublicense the fueling and refilling technology to third party companies under certain conditions.

MTI MicroFuel is a subsidiary of Mechanical Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: MKTY).
