Bac2, a start-up technology company based in the UK, has raised EUR 720,000 to fund its ElectroPhen conductive polymer development project.

This material is used to manufacture composite bipolar plates for use in polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cells.

The polymer offers natural conductivity because conductive salts are generated during polymerization.

The bipolar plates are also tougher than polymer bipolar plates, and can be cured at room temperature. The material is also easily processed using the moulding process.
