Siargo’s
sensors are based on MicroElectroMechanical Systems (MEMS) Technology.
The proprietary MEMS sensor technology provides accurate in-line measurement
with the availability of customer-specified packages. The sensor
is manufactured using Siargo’s unique MEMS process that ensures high reliability
and low cost. Both sensors are thermal type using energy balance principle.
The flow sensor measures the temperature redistribution of the sensor surface
which depends on the media’s mass as well as the media’s flow speed. In
portable fuel cell systems, BOP components are required to take as little
resource as possible and offer as much benefit as possible.
Siargo’s MEMS sensors are best suitable for this application because the products are miniature and consume substantially lower power than that of other products with similar functions, and yet offer great accuracy and response time.
Siargo is now offering single or multi-channel packaged evaluation sensor units that fuel cell system customers can integrate into their products. Shown in the picture are examples of the multi-channel packaged mass flow sensor unit for SOFC's (left) and the single channel methanol concentration sensor for active DMFC's. Each channel can be individually configured with customized full scale flow range from a few tens of standard milliliters per minute up to a few hundreds of standard liters per minute. The common measurable media are air and gaseous fuels, and special required media can also be accommodated. Each channel provides a 0 ~ 3V analog voltage that corresponds to different flow rates. The sensor has a fast response time of 2ms which fulfills the requirement of a feedback control loop. The power consumption can reach less than 10mW/channel. It works under a wide temperature range from -10ºC to 80ºC. &nnbsp;
The methanol concentration sensor measures a full range of methanol’s concentration in water from 0% to 100%. The sensor has the real time, in line measurement capability. The typical maximum power consumed is 15mW which is lower than those currently on the market.
Siargo will also accept customer’s
other special requirement within its capability. For more information,
