Fuel cell manufacturer Acta S.p.A. said that it anticipates rapid advances both commercially and technically in the second half of the year.

The board announced the appointment of a new chief financial officer, Paul Barritt, and commissioned a new accounting system in anticipation of rapid growth. It also said the company's costs and spending are within expectations.

Acta said it continues to make good progress, increasing customer numbers and hitting a number of key technical targets.

CEO Paolo Bert said: 'Our growing team has delivered great progress in almost every area in the first half of the year. We are very excited that the second half will see significant technical and commercial advances for both fuel cells and other applications.
