-Hydrogen Expo US moves to Texas, at the 18th Annual NHA Hydrogen Conference- |
"The United States currently offer companies with innovative solutions the best potential", says Ines Freesen, Managing Director of Freesen & Partner GmbH. "The 1.2 billion dollar program announced by President George W. Bush is being implemented step by step. The program's focus is on hydrogen infrastructure, storage technologies and fuel cell applications, which opens up an attractive market both for domestic and international vendors."
Recently, a number of projects for groundbreaking, clean energy supply were announced in the State of Texas. In November 2005, Gas Technology Institute signed an agreement with the State's Commission on Environmental Quality (TEQ) for the development of hydrogen fueling station technology. In February 2006, scientists from the University of Texas at Austin and RTI International released information about a new material designed for hydrogen purification. In April 2006, Praxair announced the construction of a hydrogen storage facility in Liberty County, TX. Fuel cell system developer General Hydrogen plans to deliver one of their units to Houston, TX-based Cat Lift Trucks to power a forklift. Also, the Center for Fuel Cell Research and Application at HARC (Houston Advanced Research Center) is engaged in a number of additional projects.
Hydrogen Expo US attendance is predicted
to benefit from local Texas industry, such as the electronics manufacturers.
These companies are interested in the integration of energy conversion
via fuel cells into their end-products. The "Portable Power and Small Fuel
Cells" theme pavilion in the exhibit hall will bring a focus to this sector
and other near-term products.
Mobility and clean, reliable hydrogen
energy for residential and commercial heat and power are further topic
areas at Hydrogen Expo US. Already now, some 40 exhibitors are signed up
for the 2007 event, including: Air Products, Ballard, BMW, BOC, Chevron,
DaimlerChrysler, Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Network North-Rhine Westfalia,
Gas Technology Institute, Honda, Hydrogen Power, Hydrogenics, Linde, Praxair,
Proton Energy Systems, Shell Hydrogen, South Carolina Hydrogen & Fuel
Cell Alliance, Toyota, UTC Power, among many others.
Companies applying for exhibit space
now also have the opportunity to sign up for a free speaking opportunity
in the expo seminar forum. For further information contact:
