The purpose for the Governor's visit was to meet with company representatives and to see first-hand how Enova Systems' unique technology is benefiting the truck and bus segment in today's marketplace. Following a brief presentation by Enova's management, Governor Taft viewed Enova's advanced engineering and test facility, as well as observed the active integration of Enova's Post Transmission Hybrid Drive System into a 2nd IC Corporation School Bus. Enova has already delivered the first fully functional hybrid school bus to IC Corporation in January 2006.
"Today's high fuel costs are presenting serious challenges for both our businesses and our consumers. In Ohio we are committed to identifying solutions by investing in fuel cell research and supporting efforts to increase the use of alternative fuels," Taft said. "I'm pleased that cutting-edge companies like Enova are leading in the effort to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and have recognized the value in doing business in Ohio."
"Our partnership with IC Corporation is providing a solution to the School Bus transportation market. We are honored and very pleased that Governor Taft took the time to see what we can offer," said Mike Staran, Enova's VP of Marketing. Looking forward, Enova expects to continue advancements being made in the hybrid bus and truck markets, expecting future growth in these markets during the remainder of the year.
