DeKALB - Northern Illinois University has announced that public tours of a bus powered by hydrogen fuel cells, scheduled for today, have been canceled due to mechanical difficulties with the vehicle.

Officials at Georgetown University, where the bus was created as part of the Advanced Vehicle Development program, are hopeful that the vehicle still will be available to meet other obligations later in the week and that public tours in Sycamore and DeKalb can be rescheduled.

Updated dates and times for tours will be announced as they become available.
