FuelCon
received the prestigious Hugo-Junkers-Innovation-Award 2006 for outstanding
business performance. The minister of economic affairs of the federal state
Sachsen-Anhalt, Dr. Horst Rehberger, presented the award to FuelCon's managing
directors Dr. Ingo Benecke and Mathias Bode. This award recognizes the
development and market introduction of FuelCon's "TrueData" line of diagnostic
tools and devices for fuel cell and fuel cell system evaluation.
FuelCon was selected for the award
about 50 other companies who were considered. The presentation of the award
was made in the presence of Dr. Klaus von Dohnanyi, former German federal
minister of science and technology. The award honours unique and innovative
business models, which contributed to exceptional business performance,
launch of innovative products and companies growth. The name of the award
is a dedication to Prof. Hugo Junkers (February 3rd, 1859 - February 3rd,1935).
Prof. Junkers was an innovative German engineer, as his many patents in
varied areas show. The name Junkers is mainly known in connection with
aircrafts, especially the first all-metal aeroplane of the world.
"This award is the result of the
combined effort from all of our staff members" Dr. Ingo Benecke said during
the awarding ceremony. "We are fortunate at FuelCon to have employees with
the inventive talent, and the courage and conviction to fulfil their responsibilities
exceptionally well. We appreciate that the selection committee honoured
our company with this award in recognition for our success in the worldwide
marketing of our systems as well as our development as an innovative service
provider in one of the most exciting technology fields. The fuel cell will
be a critical part of our future energy supply and we are proud to serve
the world as one of the leading R&D teams with our technology."
