| SOUTHBOROUGH,
Mass.--Protonex Technology Corporation, a leading manufacturer of high-performance
fuel cell power systems for portable and remote applications, will have
three of its advanced fuel cell power systems for military and commercial
applications on display this week at the Hannover Fair in Hannover, Germany.
Protonex will exhibit in Hall 13, Stand E87/3 as part of the Hydrogen +
Fuel Cells Group Exhibit, April 24-28. Included will be the 30-watt P2
system, which will provide power for display equipment in the Company's
booth for the duration of the fair.
Protonex will also exhibit a 200-watt
hybridized auxiliary power unit (APU) and a 20-watt wearable power supply.
The 200-watt APU was developed in partnership with strategic partner Parker
Hannifin and is targeted toward commercial users for marine, recreational
vehicle, mobile, and emergency power. The system is hybridized with two
nickel metal hydride batteries to supply up to 4 kilowatts of peak power.
The fuel cell provides base power and battery charging for continuous high-quality
power.
The 20-watt wearable power supply
is a design-phase unit that represents a scale-down of the technology developed
in the Company's successful 30-watt soldier power program funded by the
U.S. Air Force and Army. Like the 30-watt system, the 20-watt system combines
fuel cell and chemical hydride fueling subsystems to deliver continuous
power for electronic devices. After scale production economies are achieved
via military sales, both systems are expected to enter commercial markets
as power sources for portable electronics, medical devices, scientific
equipment and other demanding applications.
"Protonex has placed a heavy and
ongoing focus on military applications and, after gaining momentum with
several important development contracts, is now gearing up to expand into
commercial markets with advanced power solutions designed for a wide range
of applications currently underserved by batteries or generators," stated
Scott Pearson, Protonex CEO.
