A GenCore stationary hydrogen fuel cell is currently undergoing a reliability test at the Int. airport in Keflavik the 20th of Dec 2005. The fuel cell comes from Plug Power, USA and Logan Energy monitors the project while INE is their assistant in Iceland.

If you happen to pass through the airport in Keflavik then notice a light-sign that flashes up on the front wall in the morning between 6.30 and 7.00 and in the afternoon between 16.30m and 17.00. It says H2 clean energy. - The background is that the first stationary fuel cell in Iceland is now undergoing a 12 month reliability test. It is supposed to start up 2 times a day in any conditdions. Instead of just registering to invisibly to computer far away,  the electricity it produces also connects to a strong beamer that flashes up on the front.

This project is a joint venture between INE and partners in the USA.
