        MTI to Present At The 17th Annual Analyst Conference

ALBANY, N.Y.-- Dr. William P. Acker, Chief Executive Officer of MTI MicroFuel Cells Inc., the developer of the award-winning Mobion® micro fuel cell technology and a subsidiary of Mechanical Technology Incorporated (Nasdaq: MKTY - News), is scheduled to present at the Wall Street Analyst Forums' 17th Annual Analyst Conference, which will take place February 27, 2006 to March 2, 2006 at the Princeton Club in New York City.

Dr. Acker will present on March 1, 2006 at 9:40 a.m. (EST). His presentation will include an overview of MTI Micro's Mobion® technology as an improved power source for military and consumer portable applications.
