DES PLAINES, Ill. & PARIS--HyRadix, Inc. and IFP announced today the initiation of a joint development program for hydrogen generation. Under a multi-year program the companies will combine efforts to extend the capability of HyRadix's autothermal reforming technology to process liquid feed stocks. The initial activities will focus on the production of hydrogen from ethanol.

"By combining our efforts with IFP, a leader in process development, HyRadix will be able to extend its hydrogen generation technology to handle liquid feeds more quickly," said Robert Gray, President and CEO of HyRadix. "IFP brings decades of experience in process technology development and has recognized the advantage of our core ATR technology for processing liquid feed stocks." HyRadix currently sells the Aptus(TM) hydrogen generator for industrial use in the metals treating, oils hydrogenation, and float glass industries. The products resulting from this joint effort will also be marketed by HyRadix.

"We consider HyRadix's innovative technology to be the next generation in small scale hydrogen production," added Jean-Pierre Burzynski, Deputy Director of Refining-Petrochemicals Technology Business Unit at IFP. "Together IFP and HyRadix can quickly extend the leadership position into the area of liquid fuel reforming. We have jointly chosen to focus the initial efforts on ethanol to advance the potential for CO2 neutral electricity generation and vehicle fueling in Europe."

HyRadix, based in Des Plaines, Illinois, is dedicated to the development and global commercialization of hydrogen generation technology for industrial and vehicle refueling applications. For more information, please visit www.HyRadix.com

IFP is a research and industrial development, training and information services center active in the fields of oil and gas, their use (in particular by vehicles), and the new energy and environmental technologies (production of fuels from biomass, biofuels, hydrogen, the capture and storage of CO2, etc.).

IFP is engaged in various research and development projects in the field of hydrogen: production, transport and engine combustion. For more information www.ifp.fr
