Sonalika Group (SG), a subsidiary of International Cars and Motors has
said it will bring a zero- pollution hydrogen-fuelled hybrid car by 2008
on Indian roads.
SG together with Banaras Hindu University
scientists are working on a hydrogen-driven car.
The work is at a fairly advanced
stage.
The company was hopeful that the
government will promote hydrogen as the future fuel of the country.
The target of SG is to produce a
hydrogen-driven car at a price of Rs5 lakh.
The hydrogen-run vehicle should be
able to use conventional fuel as well.
