Not Much Change In Pay For Executives At Plug Power

Publication date: 08-April-2004
Source: Times Union

Executive compensation is relatively flat at Plug Power Inc., which filed its annual proxy this week.

Roger B. Saillant, president and chief executive at the Latham-based fuel cell company, earned a base salary of $300,000 in 2003, plus about $15,000 in other compensation -- almost exactly what he took home the year before.

Saillant did not receive a bonus last year. Other top executives did, although their pay did not get much of a boost.

Plug's annual meeting will be held at 10 a.m. May 20 at the Albany Marriott hotel on Wolf Road in Colonie. Shareholders will be asked to re-elect three directors to the board: George C. McNamee, chairman of First Albany Cos. Inc.; Douglas T. Hickey, a general partner at Hummer-Winblad Venture Partners; and J. Douglas Grant, a director of Sceptre Investment Counsel Ltd. The new terms will expire in 2007.

Shares (Nasdaq: PLUG) closed Wednesday at $7.89, down 5 cents.
