MTI Micro Co-Founder and CEO William P. Acker, Ph.D., plans to step down as CEO of MTI Micro at the completion of a search for his successor. A search committee of MTI Micro Board members has been formed and has retained one of the world's leading executive search firms, Korn/Ferry International, to assist in the search process.
Acker will remain CEO of MTI Micro until his successor is in place. He will then continue to be actively involved with the Company as an advisor helping to further develop Mobion(R) technology for commercialization. Acker will also serve as a member of the MTI Micro Board and as Chair of the Board's Technology Committee.
"We have made tremendous technical and business progress in the four years since MTI Micro was founded. It has been one of the high points of my career to have led the Company during this time," said Acker. "As an entrepreneur, my focus has always been in technology development and leading the early stages of a company's growth. MTI Micro is now moving out of that phase and will benefit from a CEO that can accelerate its growth into a global leader in micro fuel cell products," said Acker. "I look forward to remaining actively involved in the Company and working with MTI Micro's new CEO."
"We have put in place a succession plan to provide continuity for the Company, bring in the right management team with experience critical to the next stage of MTI Micro's development and allow us to continue to benefit from Bill's recognized expertise in technology and his keen awareness of the marketplace we will be serving," said Steven Fischer, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of MTI Micro's parent company, MTI. "On behalf of the board members and the employees at both MTI and MTI Micro, I want to thank Bill for his past leadership and for his continuing role in the growing company he helped create."
