This new German patent is for an electrical interconnect for a planar fuel cell. CFCL believes this innovation may provide a cost-efficient means of increasing the life of a solid oxide fuel cell.
CFCL is focused on Germany as a key target market for CFCL's fuel cell powered domestic generators. The German patent joins patents granted to CFCL for the same invention in the UK, USA, Australia and New Zealand.
This patent adds to the two patents granted to CFCL in October 2005 in Japan and Australia, giving CFCL a total of 44 granted patents. These are contained in 28 patent families (each family represents a single invention covered in multiple jurisdictions) that have been granted or are in the process of being examined by the various Patent Offices.
These inventions cover many aspects of fuel cell technology and associated balance of plant systems. This broad portfolio provides significant scope for CFCL to expand its future design parameters and product options and may offer opportunities for future revenue streams.
Ceramic Fuel Cells Ltd (CFCL) is
a publicly listed company (ASX code CFU) and world leader in developing
solid oxide fuel cells. CFCL's fuel cells have the potential to meet
significant market demand in Europe, UK and Asia for clean, efficient and
reliable electricity for use on site and sale back into the power grid.
With 100 skilled staff and extensive patented technology, CFCL is pursuing
partnerships for manufacture, production and use of its fuel cells in delivering
electricity in homes, offices and industry around the world.
