The
US government has been supporting companies who want to become serious
about their visions for a cleaner, safer energy supply with multi-million-dollar
programs for years. New momentum was added when Congress said no to new
oil exploration plans in Alaska and demanded a stronger focus on alternative
fuels instead. Hydrogen Expo US, held on March 12 to 14, 2006 in Long Beach,
CA with the NHA Annual Hydrogen Conference (March 12 - 16) is the meeting
place for vendors and buyers in a market that is predicted to grow to 1.6
billion US$ until 2010.
California has been a leader in H2/FC projects and therefore offers ideal conditions for early commercialization. With the state-funded construction of three new H2 fueling stations and the lease of twelve vehicles with fuel cell powertrain and H2 ICE excellent opportunities arise for innovative technology suppliers from around the world. This applies to propulsion technology, fueling systems, infastructure solutions, and to portable systems which serve as APUs to power onboard electronics. Stationary applications also offer great potential for FC stations that ensure failure-free zero-emission supply of power, heat and cooling for California.
