Thanks to an innovative Remote Control
System (RCS) operators of mobile and remote surveillance and monitoring
systems world wide will now enjoy even more flexibility and ease of operation
when powering their systems with the SFC A50 fuel cell. The new fuel
cell remote control system, developed and distributed by Tedas Telecom
Solutions, NL, enables
monitoring and control of the energy
supply process. The RCS is controlled from a central control station
via GSM network. At the central control station the SFC monitoring
software monitors fuel cell operation via an RS 232 interface. The
RCS will immediately issue an SMS alert if a value exceeds a set limit.
The operator in turn can return SMS commands to the RCS to initiate on-site
actions, to remedy critical situations, to change timer settings, to define
alarm scenarios, to record log files and more.
"Police observation is a very power hungry application for which our SFC A50 fuel cell is fast becoming the golden standard power source. It offers a high amount of energy while being light weight, reliable, silent, and easy to operate. Now, with the RCS, we have added an efficient remote monitoring and control feature, which will give the police forces even more flexibility and leverage in remote and mobile observation," says Michael Gruber, Sales Manager of SFC. And Alice Koers, General Manager of Tedas, adds: "The development of this remote control system for us was a logical step in the broadening of our product portfolio for governmental services. We are already supplying video monitoring systems to the Dutch police. We are very happy that this new product has been so well received by our customers."
The RCS is also available with a GPS control option for mobile applications, which enables identification of the global coordinates of the device location, for example in mobile surveillance applications.
The RCS is the latest addition to
the growing fuel cell portfolio of SFC Smart Fuel Cell, a market leader
in fuel cell technologies for portable off-grid power applications serving
the leisure, industrial and military markets. The RCS is available
in two versions: as basic function with SMS alert functionality and RS
232 for € 895 (plus VAT), or in an extended package with GPS
system for 995 (plus VAT).

About Tedas Telecom Solutions
Tedas (www.tedas.nl)
is a company that develops smart telecommunication and video monitoring
systems, using innovative technologies. TEDAS supplies both quick turnkey
solutions and custom built systems. To governmental departments TEDAS
supplies e.g. mobile video solutions and digital interrogation room systems;
for the health care market TEDAS has developed several care support video
systems. Various forms of object monitoring are possible for different
applications, using the appropriate network technologies (IP, DSL, UMTS
and GPRS) to transfer the video
signals. A recent TEDAS development
is the remote control system for the SFC A50 fuel cell.
