  Hoku Scientific to Open NASDAQ Market on October 24

KAPOLEI, HI-- Hoku Scientific, Inc. (HOKU), a designer, developer and manufacturer of membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) and non-fluorinated membranes for proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells, announced today that its executive management team will preside over the opening of the NASDAQ stock market on Monday, October 24, 2005.

Dustin Shindo, chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer of Hoku Scientific, said, "Our opening of the NASDAQ market recognizes our company as one of the best performing initial public offerings of 2005.
