The largest number of fuel cells to be seen in London will be on display in Westminster and Trafalgar Square. Amongst them will be the fuel cell buses currently in service on the South bank and the Partnership's own 5kW fuel cell which has previously been used to power the traditional Trafalgar Square Christmas lights.
Representatives of the Greater London Authority (which hosts the LHP) and the Partnership will also be meeting with representatives from elsewhere, particularly Canada and California to find out how activities there have been carried out. By following their example, we will be able to move forward faster, avoiding many pitfalls that have already been discovered. Hopefully, we will increasingly be able to provide an example to them, so that they can benefit from London's experience in the future.
The LHP will also hold a seminar on Tuesday the 4th of October, focusing on its activities and on the action plan for the future. This is your chance to find out more about what we a redoing: our aims and objectives, the partners involved in our activities and the work we are carrying out, from educating local authorities, to helping demonstrate fuel cells throughout London. This is the first of a more regular set of updates from the London Hydrogen Partnership, designed to keep you informed on our activities. If you would like to receive future editions, please contact us at 020 7983 4727.
Zoë Jennings, Partnership Manager, London Hydrogen Partnership
The London Hydrogen Partnership (www.lhp.org.uk)
is a public-private organisation designed to help bring the reality of
a hydrogen and fuel cell-based economy in London closer to reality. The
Partnership and its members work on infrastructure issues, education and
training, and implementation of the technology itself. By carrying out
these activities, the London Hydrogen Partnership hopes to set out a route
to a cleaner, low carbon future that other cities can follow.
