MUNHALL, Pa. (AP) - Siemens Westinghouse Power Corp. will announce
plans for its new - but dormant - fuel cell plant near Pittsburgh.
Siemens announced the $122 million project in September 2001 and built
the 180,000-square-foot plant in 2002, but never opened it last year as
scheduled.
Thomas Flower, president of the Orlando, Fla.-based corporation will
give a progress report on Siemens' plans for the plant on Friday, spokeswoman
Melanie Forbrick said.
The initial plans included the creation of 500 jobs by 2007 and an expansion
of the plant to 430,000 square feet.
