"Today, most of the oil we use is burned, to power cars, to heat homes, and to generate electricity. And yet petroleum, and its derivatives, provide vital feedstock for the manufacture of commercial, industrial, medical and household products that are essential to our everyday life -- products, which, in many cases, are easily recyclable," said Mr. Campbell. "How long before fossil hydrocarbons are simply too rare and too valuable to burn? With this in mind, it is fitting that, in December, we will be in the Middle East - home to two thirds of global oil reserves - to discuss the worldwide need to transition to a hydrogen economy before the wells dry out."
“As the first event of its kind in the middle east, it is great to see such high level support from leading hydrogen and fuel cell companies, like Ballard. This sector support confirms the kind of industry unity and cooperation that is needed to push hydrogen technologies through to commercialization,” said Mr. Heston Harper, managing director of FCM. “Ballard’s attendance complements the other high level speakers who will be participating at this event, ensuring it will be a ‘must attend’ for anyone seriously trying to reach the Middle East markets. We look forward with great anticipation to take business forward in the Middle East.”
“Ballard is a global leader in the fuel cell industry and we are very pleased to have the company as a sponsor at this event,” said Dr. Homam Albaroudi, managing director of MEFH. “We are also very excited that Mr. Campbell has accepted our invitation to give a keynote presentation in this first of its kind event in the Middle East.”
