  Update Briefing on the International Partnership for the Hydrogen Economy

An interagency team from the U.S. Government conducted an IPHE stakeholder update meeting in Washington, DC on June 30, 2005. This was the third U.S. stakeholder briefing conducted since IPHE was established. 

Over 80 representatives from the private, public sectors and nongovernmental sectors attended the briefing. This update focused on recentresults of the IPHE including the publication of subject specific Scoping Papers on high priority and socioeconomic areas for IPHE, the process and procedures used to certify IPHE international collaborative pre-competitive research and demonstration projects, and modes for interacting with the stakeholder community. 

The speakers included Under Secretary for Global Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, Paula J. Dobriansky; Under Secretary for Energy, Science and Environment of the U.S. Department of Energy, David K. Garman; and Tyler Duvall, Acting Assistant Secretary for Transportation Policy for the U.S. Department of Transportation. The update briefing concluded with a Q&A session followed by informal networking and lunch.
