Springs Wildlife State Park on the cutting-edge of technology--
HOMOSASSA SPRINGS – The Department
of Environmental Protection (DEP) will unveil a hydrogen fuel cell system
on Friday, designed to power the Wildlife Encounter Pavilion at Homosassa
Springs Wildlife State Park. The partnership between the DEP and Progress
Energy Florida will expose visitors to alternative energy sources and provide
clean energy for the park.
DEP Deputy Secretary Allan Bedwell
will be joined by Progress Energy Florida President and Chief Executive
Officer Bill Habermeyer, local officials and park staff to unveil the fuel
cell system.
In addition to the fuel system unveiling,
Progress Energy Florida will host an Alternative Energy Presentation at
the park, discussing their recent developments in alternative energy and
innovative ways of conserving energy at home.
