London,
U.K.-- Voller Energy Group PLC ("Voller Energy Group" or "the Company")
(AIM:VLR), a manufacturer of portable fuel cell systems for use as battery
chargers and mobile generators, announces that it has CE certified the
latest generation of the VE100 portable fuel cell system.
To validate the certification the unit had to undergo rigorous testing in controlled conditions while working at full power using the internal hydrogen supply. This included EN55014 category 4 tests for radio frequency immunity, and compliance testing to EN55022 for radio frequency emissions.
Stephen Voller, CEO of Voller Energy Group plc, said: "The VE100 is unique in that it weights just 9kg but produces mains electrical output. To achieve CE certification for a product of this type is a world first."
About CE marking
The CE mark is the official marking required by the European Community for all Electric and Electronic equipment that will be sold, or put into service for the first time, anywhere in the European community. It proves to the buyer that this product fulfills all essential safety and environmental requirements as they are defined in the European Directives. The CE marking directive (93/68/EEC) was adopted on 07-22-1993. The CE marking directive gives a detailed description of the initials CE and any other marks specific to a particular directive and the ways conformity may be acquired.
In return for fulfilling the CE marking requirements, the manufacturer or its agent gets the opportunity to cover the entire European market using only one approval procedure.
About the VE100
The latest version, the VE100v3, weighs just nine kilograms and delivers mains power, just like a plug in the wall. The European version produces EU standard 230 volts at 50Hz, US version is also available producing 110 volts at 60Hz. No toxic emissions are produced while the unit is operating, the only output being pure water.
The VE100v3 portable fuel cell system is capable of delivering up to 200 watts at peak power and 100 watts at nominal performance. The unit is completely self contained and importantly does not require an external battery to start the system. The VE100v3 is quiet and produces AC mains electricity and simultaneously runs 12v DC electrical appliances that are designed to fit into a car lighter socket.
The VE100 is manufactured in the UK.
