In addition, they are involved in a project that we feel could be a major product in the future - a regenerative fuel cell. A regenerative fuel cell is a device that can operate as a fuel cell and as an electrolyzer. As a result, it can provide power when needed (working as a fuel cell) or it can convert water into hydrogen, when grid electricity is cheapest (example, at night during off peak hours) and then it can be stored for later use. This type of device would be IDEAL in a future home that is powered by the sun (Photovoltaics). The regenerative cell could use the electricity generated by the Photovoltaics during sunlight hours to produce hydrogen from water via electrolysis and then provide power at night by turning the stored hydrogen into electricity via its fuel cell function.
