Their mid term goal is to assure that 50 - 100 stations are available by the year 2010. She also stated that we should expect to see a line item in the state budget for next year that funds the program. The initial blue print is out for public review.
At the same luncheon both Senator Byron Dorgan and Dr. Alan Lloyd were honored with awards. Senator Dorgan was presented the Senator Spark Matsunaga Memorial hydrogen Award, with staff member Dr Jerome Hinkle accepting on Dorgan's behalf.
The Award was presented for perseverance in raising awareness of the need for and acceleration of the research and development of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies in the United States Senate.
Dr Lloyd received a Lifetime Honorary Member Award in recognition of his continuing efforts in hydrogen policy and outreach activities, and his tireless advocacy which has helped pave the way for state initiatives in California. -
