Publication Date:29-March-2005
Source:Nordic Business Report
Three towns in western Jutland, Denmark, are planning to invest in the establishment of a hydrogen train connection.

The towns of Vemb, Lemvig and Thyboron have said that they will provide funding to prepare for a hydrogen train link between them, and the town of Ringkobing will also contribute funds to the project. Together with investment from the European Union the total funding available will be DKK500,000, reports the Danish news agency Ritzau.

If the project is realised the train would be Europe's first driven by hydrogen power.

One Danish krone (DKK) is worth approximately 0.09 British pounds (GBP).
