Genesis FuelTech To Supply Fuel Processor For Fuel Cell Demonstration Project In Poland
Publication Date:28-March-2005
Source:Genesis FueTech
Genesis Fueltech Inc. announces that it is supplying one of its Model 20L methanol-to-hydrogen fuel processors for installation at a stationary fuel cell demonstration project in Poland.

The major Polish power electronics manufacturing company APS Energia Ltd. and the Gdansk University of Technology will manage the project.  The fuel processor will supply hydrogen to a Ballard fuel cell system.  Genesis Chief Technology Officer David DeVries will assist with the start-up integration.

APS Energia is based in Zielonka near Warsaw, Poland and manufactures a broad line of power supply products including the “Pulstar” fuel cell based UPS system.  Throughout the term of the demonstration project, specialists from APS Energia and the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of Gdansk University of Technology will monitor all operating characteristics of the system.

Phillip Piffer, CEO of Genesis, comments that “combining a Genesis methanol fuel processor with a fuel cell in a UPS backup system will provide extended power delivery capability – far beyond that usually available with compressed hydrogen storage”.

The Model 20L is the newest fuel processor developed by Genesis.  It generates up to 20 standard liters of ultra pure hydrogen per minute and has set new benchmarks for fuel processor performance and for ease of integration with fuel cell systems.

Headquartered in Spokane, Washington, Genesis Fueltech Inc. is a world leader in manufacturing high efficiency methanol fuel processors and in the design of compact integrated methanol reforming fuel cell systems.
